Urban Transition Geographical Information System (John Logan PI). (www.s4.brown.edu/utp/) Post-doctoral research associate supervising a NSF/NIH granted project utilizing archival records to recreate the census geography of the tenth U.S. Census in a GIS format. Responsible for organization, collating, and assessment of all materials related to the project, and location and interpretation of period census records and materials. Position also involves the training of persons working on the project in GIS and hiring of new workers, and the creation, organization, and dissemination of the resulting database. 2007 - Present
Minnesota Population Center, (www.ipums.org) University of Minnesota (S. Ruggles, et al, PIs). Research assistant tasked with database maintenance at IPUMS and NAPP. 2005 - 2007
National Historical Geographic Information System, (www.nhgis.org) Minnesota Population Center and Department of Geography, University of Minnesota (Adams, Ruggles, et al PIs). Research assistant tasked with creating a complete census-tract level geography for the United States for every year that information was available. Also responsible for historical census-county geography, locating and geo-referencing appropriate archival maps, and cleaning and verifying finished files. 2002 - 2005
